Biography

Studied law in Munich, Geneva and Erlangen. Research assistant to the chair for German and International Tax Law at the Friedrich Alexander University in Erlangen/Nuremberg. PhD in Constitutional Law under Professor Dr Walter Schick.

Independent lawyer since 1977. He has worked predominantly as an Insolvency Administrator since 1986 and almost entirely since 1992.

An independent expert jury appointed by the WirtschaftsWoche magazine voted Dr. Siegfried Beck to be among the top 25 German experts for insolvency law (see issue 9/2011).

Distinctions

• JUVE-Handbook 2016/2017: „Leading name in Bavaria“
• In 2011 Dr. Siegfried Beck was voted one of the top 25 experts for Insolvency Law in Germany by an independent jury of experts who were appointed by the German magazine WirtschaftsWoche (WiWo, ed. 9/2011).
• Awarded the Bundesverdienstkreuz (highest civil decoration in Germany) with sash in July 2007

Honorary Professorship

On 24 February 2014 the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg appointed Dr. Beck honorary professor.

• Member of Gravenbrucher Kreis, the union of leading insolvency administrators and reorganization-experts of Germany
• Member of the DAV “Insolvency Law Working Group in the German Association of Lawyers”
• Founding member and member of the management body of the “Reorganisation and Insolvency Working Group“ as well as the Central Franconian Legal Society in Nuremberg
• Member of the “Law and Tax Committee of the Nuremberg Chamber of Industry and Commerce Nuremberg for Central Franconia” (until March 2005)
• Chairman of the joint examining committee “Specialist in Insolvency Law” (until March 2005) of the Nuremberg and Bamberg bar association

• Until November 2008, examiner of the First State examination in law of the University of Erlangen / Nuremberg. From 01.04.2008 until 2010, examiner of the Second State examination in law
